Meet Hunter and Kelli from the University of Texas. Hunter was Valedictorian of his class and graduated with a degree in Business - Finance. Kelli graduated with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. They are truly Longhorn Love goals!

KC: How did you meet? Where?

H & K: Hunter and I were invited (by separate people) to a back-to-school toga party my freshman year (Hunter was a junior). We hadn’t seen each other since high school and Hunter approached me asking if I remembered him.  Of course I remembered Hunter, he had a mullet and braces in high school.

KC: What significance does the University of Texas hold for you?

H & K: UT holds the most special place in our hearts. It’s where we met, had lots of dates and even had engagement pictures taken. Hunter would drive me to class on his motorcycle and it just felt so cool. We would take elective classes together to give us even more reasons to hang out! Our most favorite thing of all, though, has to be cheering on the longhorns at DKR!!

KC: Do you think you would have ever met if it weren't for your school? Why or why not?

H & K:  It is possible we may have eventually met since we did go to the same high school and had some overlapping friends. I am glad we met at UT though so we could make all of the memories there together.

KC: What's your favorite thing to do together? Why?

H & K: If we are not cheering on the Texas Longhorns, we love to travel the world and explore new places.

KC: What advice would you give incoming first-years about meeting other people and relationships/friendships?

Definitely build your community from day one! Meet people in your dorm or where you live. Join a study group to meet people in your classes/major. If you have any special interests/hobbies, join those groups too. If your group doesn’t exist, create it! UT is so big it can be easy to feel like a small fish in a big sea. But there are so many ways to get plugged in so don’t be afraid to take the plunge!! Everyone is in the same boat as you wanting to build their group and make lasting friends/relationships.

Thank you so much Kellie and Hunter for sharing your Love Story! We can't wait to see your love and Longhorn pride continue to grow <3
