Simone Biles: Our Cavan Crush

Simone Biles. We all know her name. Standing at a petite four feet and eight inches tall, she has made an impact far bigger than any single person. She is one of the greatest gymnasts of all time, and one of the bravest voices of our generation. Simone is an incredible example of strength and grace, and exactly who we want by our side in the #CavanCrew.

Simone is the definition of girl power, with her insane performance on the floor and her bravery in the wake of her abuser’s trial and sentencing. She received the Arthur Ashe Courage Award along with Aly Raisman, McKayla Maroney, Gabby Douglas and Jordyn Wieber. She is an inspiration for millions of women, including our team here at KYLE CAVAN.

On February 8, we were lucky enough to gift Simone one of our custom necklaces. Simone was the keynote speaker at the Win for KC Women’s Sports Awards, the largest luncheon in the country honoring women in sports. WIN for KC (Women’s Intersport Network for Kansas City) was founded to empower the lives of women through advocating for the value of sports and fitness. She talked about her journey through faith and gymnastics, and we didn’t think it was possible, we love her even more. 

As a women-founded company, we were honored when WIN for KC approached us to create custom necklaces for their guests. Kyle Garcia, our beloved founder and designer, was a competitive swimmer most of her life and was on Duke University’s swim team, so she felt especially connected to the organization. We appreciate just how empowering sports and fitness can be for women so we were over the moon to unite over 200 badass women with our WIN For KC necklace.
