Meet Lauren and Alex from the Florida State University. Lauren graduated with a major in Behavioral Neuroscience in 2021, and Alex majored in Information Technology in 2020. He returned to FSU to complete his Master's in Information Technology in 2021. In a super exciting update, Alex proposed just this Saturday 2.8.2025 at The Biltmore, and Lauren said . . . YES!

KC: How did you meet? Where?

L & A: We met in chemistry class on the first day of our freshman year in 2017. We started talking and quickly realized we were both in the same honors colloquium class and lived in the same dorm building. We started hanging out more, studying together, and getting to know each other. It didn’t take long before we realized there was something special between us. Our first date was at a restaurant called Madison Social in College Town, and from there, the rest was history!

KC: What significance does Florida State University hold for you?

L & A: Florida State University means so much to us. It’s where we met, fell in love, and grew together, but it’s also where we became part of a larger community that shaped who we are today. The friendships we built and the memories we made at FSU are ones we know will last a lifetime. From late-night study sessions in Strozier Library to cheering on the Noles at Doak Campbell Stadium, FSU became a place where we felt truly at home. Additionally, the education we received there laid the foundation for our careers and gave us the confidence to start our next chapter. Our time at FSU will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we’ll forever be proud to call ourselves Seminoles.

KC: Do you think you would have ever met if it weren't for your school? Why or why not?

L & A: I don’t think so. We’re from different hometowns, and without FSU, our paths probably wouldn’t have crossed. We’re grateful every day that FSU brought us together.

KC: What's your favorite thing to do together? Why?

L & A: After graduation, Alex and I moved to Atlanta for work. With its ideal location in the Southeast, living in Atlanta has made it easy for us to take weekend trips to nearby cities. We’ve visited places like Charleston, Savannah, Nashville, Asheville, Greenville, and of course, Tallahassee. Traveling is one of our favorite ways to spend quality time together, as it allows us to explore new destinations and create lasting memories.

KC: What advice would you give incoming first-years about meeting other people and relationships/friendships?

Joining student organizations is a great way to meet new people. Find a group that interests you and get involved. College is the perfect time to step outside your comfort zone and embrace new experiences - you never know who you might meet!

Thanks so much, Lauren and Alex, for sharing your Love Story with us! We can't wait to see where your love and travels take you next <3
