Meet Aidan and Grace from the University of South Carolina. They met during their first year of college back in 2019 and graduated together in 2023 with degrees in Chemical Engineering – talk about power couple!
KC: How did you meet? Where?
A & G: Aidan and I met within the first two weeks of school our freshman year in 2019. We were the same major and had three of the same classes our first semester. After a few days of walking close to one another on campus from our coding class to our calculus class, Aidan approached me and we quickly became good friends, realizing we had a very similar background.
KC: What significance does the University of South Carolina hold for you?
A & G: We both completed our Chemical Engineering degrees at the University of South Carolina and graduated together in 2023. South Carolina is the start of our story and we are forever grateful for this school. This is where we met each other, went to sorority functions together, studied for tests at coffee shops together, cheered on the Gamecocks at Willy B together, and fell in love with each other. Forever to thee!
KC: Do you think you would have ever met if it weren't for your school? Why or why not?
A & G: No, I don't think our paths would have crossed if we had not gone to South Carolina. We are both from up north out of state, and by chance chose to go to school here. Everything truly happens for a reason!
KC: What's your favorite thing to do together? Why?
A & G: Our favorite thing to do is grab a cup of coffee from a local coffee shop and go for a walk together through town or at the beach. Reminds us of our early dates on campus! We get to just enjoy each other’s company and laugh together.
KC: What advice would you give incoming first-years about meeting other people and relationships/friendships?
Meet as many new people as you can and say yes to every new opportunity that approaches you! Freshman year is a great opportunity to make new friends and step out of your comfort zone. You never know who you’ll meet!
