5 Minutes with Sophia Poole, FSU

Each summer, we invite a select few creatives to intern with us. It's not only a moment for networking and career opportunities, it's an amazing experience in the heart of NYC. We’re so excited to introduce Florida State senior and our marketing/event planning/retail intern, Sophia Poole!

Why did you decide to intern at Kyle Cavan?

 I wanted to intern at Kyle Cavan because I felt so inspired by their mission and the people who work here. I love that Kyle Cavan is a female owned business that is supporting female creators and students. College jewelry, for the most part, seemed so male dominated, and Kyle Cavan is creating something I want to wear for the rest of my life. 

What's your fave thing about NYC (so far!)? 

My favorite thing about NYC is diversity at every corner! Everywhere I turn there are people from different walks of life and they bring their culture to the city. I love trying new restaurants, thrift stores, and museums.

Who is your style inspo and why? 

I get style inspiration from so many places, but my biggest icons are my friends (and Daisy Edgar Jones and Rachel Green). My friends are my biggest inspiration because their style is so tailored to their personalities! As for Rachel and Daisy, I love the classic, put together look of Rachel Green and Daisy exudes Boho Chic. 

What advice do you have for incoming first-years?

Keep an open mind about everything! I was undecided on my major after originally wanting to be pre med, but I explored different communities and eventually rediscovered my passion. Immersing yourself in different clubs/organizations is such a good way to explore what you love. 

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

I honestly have no idea. In five years, I see myself living in the city and working in fashion. I'll go wherever the wind takes me!
