September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and as proud supporters of Penn State THON™, we're honored to spotlight Haley Roth, a junior at Penn State and a passionate THON™ participant.
THON brings the Penn State community together truly like nothing else. From students, to staff, to alumni in every corner of the world, THON gives our community a purpose and has brought me so much joy,

Haley's journey with THON™ began in 2020 in honor of her father, who passed away from cancer that same year. For her, THON™ is more than just a dance marathon—it's a way to create real, lasting impact in the lives of children fighting cancer. Her dream is that one day, every pediatric cancer patient will have access to life-saving treatments and the chance to celebrate many more birthdays.
This past THON™, Haley and her AOPi sisters participated in all 46 hours!
It was the first time I completed all 46, and the emotions, energy, and strength of community during the weekend that culminated in the $17.7 million dollars raised by Penn Staters in 8 months is my favorite Penn State memory yet.

Haley has found a true sense of community through THON™ and is just getting started. She’s currently working toward a career in medicine and hopes that one day she can look back on her time at Penn State knowing that her efforts made a meaningful difference.
I THON for our Four Diamonds families, for advances in pediatric cancer research, and in hopes that every child gets to live a life filled with joy just as I have.
